New Zealand - So much awesomeness to see, but not enough time to see it all!
Our advice to you when planning your long awaited trip is to ask yourself, “what is my motivation for visiting NZ?” Then pick and choose carefully, aligning motivations with certain destinations to ensure you have yourself the trip of a lifetime! Eco, Adventure and Cultural Tourism really define NZ, and can be experienced throughout, but with decisions to be made let us help by touching on some of the unique things that set New Zealand’s different destinations apart.
The Bay of Islands, home to over 140 islands with undeveloped beaches to swim and explore accompanied by friendly dolphins, and a famous ‘hole in the rock’ to visit. Waitangi, also located in the Bay is rich in history and culture and is where our country’s founding document was signed. Our largest city is Auckland, and this multicultural mecca is built in amongst approximately 48 volcanic cones, which lie nestled between two major bodies of water. The city sprawl is intense, and views outstanding. Decisions, decisions!
If culture, bubbling mud and geothermal activity is your motivation, be sure to plan time in Rotorua and Taupo. Fill your cultural cup at a living Maori village in Rotorua, experience some adventure or a geothermal delight. And as you drive through to Taupo you’ll be blown away by views of snow capped mountains sitting behind Australasia's largest lake. Wellington is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city and home to our National Museum Te Papa as well as the famous Weta Workshop.
